Community Benefits

RES is committed to giving back to communities that host our renewable energy projects through meaningful benefit sharing programs that are designed in collaboration with the local community.

A community benefit sharing program and a neighbour benefit sharing program will be established. These programs will provide positive and lasting benefits to the local community that extend beyond the life of the project.

As part of planned engagement activities, community feedback will be sought to inform and shape community benefit sharing programs adopted as part of the project. Community feedback is vital to ensure benefits are meaningful to the local community and assists in addressing local issues.

Where possible, RES also sponsors local community groups, clubs and projects. We are currently on the lookout for sponsorship opportunities in the local area. If you are seeking sponsorship and your organisation is located in the area, please contact us.

July 2024

RES was once again a proud sponsor of the recent Gulgong Henry Lawson Heritage Festival, where our team members joyfully immersed themselves in the weekend celebrations.

This beloved three-day festival honors the life and legacy of one of Australia’s most cherished poets and fiction writers, Henry Lawson, and pays tribute to his mother Louisa, whose belief in the power of education helped shape Henry’s remarkable career.

For the RES team attending the festival, the highlight of the weekend was the opportunity to participate in the street parade on a horse drawn carriage, leading the parade of floats, vintage tractors and cars along the Gulgong High Street. The festivities included a cutting of Henry Lawson’s enormous birthday cake made by the local CWA group, and the awarding of Best Dressed winners on the day.

At RES, we are deeply committed to supporting and participating in the vibrant events of our regional communities. Being a part of these festivals and celebrating with Australia’s rural heart is an essential part of our development process and what makes RES a power for good.
